Gift Card Heaven
I went out and enjoyed my gift cards tonight plus some. I could only use a few of them for location where I went and I still have money left on them. The plus some came in when I hit other stores I’d been meaning to go to. I did behave and not spend a huge amount, as I do have bills to pay. I picked up a book on writing cover letters which has been difficult for me, I almost can’t wait to start working on it tomorrow.
Happy Holidays!
I hope everyone is having a great holiday! I had an awesome morning I believe I got pretty much everything I asked for with the exception of a Red Earred Slider turtle setup and a set of drawers to go under my desk. The turtle will have to wait anyway. I was told someone nearly bought it for me though but was discouraged by my mom. Drat. Oh well, I’ll live without them for now. I’m rocking out on my new JBL OnStage Speakers. The sound is amazing. Everytime I saw them for a cheaper price I’d pass to along to my mom and eventually I found them for $60 less than the average price. I’d recommend them to any iPod owner who wants to listen to music away from their computer. My mom recieved the Bose Sound Dock this morning and I think they both sound equally good.
We’re going to see a movie today, any recomendations? I’d really like to see Match Point.
One Christmas
This will be the first year since my parents divorced in 1996 that I’ll have one Christmas. My Dad sent his gifts to me this year and I wrapped them and put them under the tree to open with my mom and stepfather (and herd of animals) on Christmas. When I lived with him if I was going to visit my mom, we’d have Christmas before I left and when I visited him last year I had Christmas here when I got home. I’m going to call him while I’m opening his gifts tomorrow. Thankfully he got the box I sent him this morning. I was very worry it wouldn’t get there on time. And the BIG surprise was the gift I bought my mom got here today so I didn’t have to run out and get something else. Of course I ordered two since I needed one as well and they only threw one of each acessory in. I may order another in the future from the same place to get the rest.
Bluetooth Headset + Dog = No more Bluetooth Headset
My stepfather discovered why leaving your new $89 Bluetooth headset on the floor is a bad idea a few days ago. The dog came along and chewed it up. *wince* He’s had the phone for three years and found out about Bluetooth back in April and just bought the headset two weeks ago. He hadn’t even used it.
While I was sitting around my mom and stepfather’s tree we realized he probably didn’t leave it on the floor after the 9 inch tall dog came along and pushed a wrapped book off the coffee table. It was probably on the chair in his office and not on the floor. Not sure what he’s going to do now but the dog is batting 1000 this week.
MySpace
I tried to add this to my MySpace page last night and it worked but I didn’t know where I wanted to take it so I undid it. I need to think on exactly what I want to put there first I guess.
Google Yule-Log
For some reason I just love the little Yule-Log on the G-mail homepage.
I attempted to put up my small Christmas tree. I bought it the day before the rain started and couldn’t bring it in soaking wet and today when I tried it just dropped thousands of needles everywhere. So after 10 minutes of vacuuming I decided it would be happier outside.
And I see the dog training my mom has put into her dog to leave the cat alone is working well . The dog (small dog) is sitting on her big orange tabby that could probably crush the dog if he wanted to.
I found the cutest dog the other night for adoption. I’m tempted to go save her but it’s not really the right time for me to get a dog. She’s a tri-colored Manchester Terrier Mix and so sweet.
Edit: Ten minutes later the cat is still being tortured. He’s not too bright. I can pick him up and save him and he’ll jump back down. The dog stays far away from my cat because she’ll smack the crap out of her, without claws I might add (not my choice).
Barenaked On a Stick
I got this little beauty today as a gift and I love it. It contains the Barenaked Ladies’ new Christmas CD plus some of their live stuff as well as videos, photos, buddy icons and some Live Ad-Libs. You can copy all the music to your computer and reuse it as a jump drive. Their Christmas music is so light and fun. Other bands would do good to follow BNL’s idea.
A bunch of stuff my Dad bought for me came today. I think I know what one item is and it’s making me feel like a child again waiting for Christmas. I asked for Nintendo DS and a much needed external hard drive.
What an ass!
I had a ton of respect for Randal on The Apprentice up until he got hired. He basically screwed Rebecca out of a once in a lifetime chance. The way most of the former candiates acted made me just as sick. Because Rebecca had stood up for Toral all of the females disliked her and wanted Randal to win. I had Randal in the Yahoo Game but I’m just pissed at how he acted once he won. Show some class!
MSNBC sums it up well
Knitting
After wanting a skinny scarf and not wanting to spend a ton of money on it I decided to knit one. I bought a gorgeous ball of yarn with blues and greens and started work on it this evening. I’m just around half done and it’s going to look good with my new short hair cut
. Somehow I went from fifteen stitches to sixteen. While I was at the craft store I gathered a few other items to use as Christmas gifts. I made a gorgeous necklace for my mom for her Birthday and I’m going to make one for a family friend too since she loved my mom’s. I’m not totally sold on my design yet so I’m going to head to a bead store at some point today to find a certain item I need. I have way too much I want to do today and not enough time. Have to get some clothes ironed for an interview late in the afteroon (cross your fingers).
Very Sad
It’s sad that I’ve been back from my trip for three weeks and I’m still trying to catch up on my DVR and it’s not just stuff from the 10 days I was gone but the whole trip set me back on watching things in a timely manner.
