Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Last minute yes but since I’m not dressing up and want to take my dog around the neighborhood since she loves kids. Any dog costume ideas? I really don’t want to spend $25+ on a cheesy unoriginal costume. All set for later with scary movies and a bowl of candy for whoever is brave enough to venture up our driveway.

Grabbed a little known movie called The Irrefutable Truth About Demons starring the hot Karl Urban (Lord of the Rings, Doom, The Bourne Surpremacy) and I still need to finish White Noise. I’m sure there’s some good movies on On Demand too. I’ll probably need to get some cleaning done too since there’s an appraiser coming again on Tuesday. And probably an exterminator soon since the nasty spiders are back and the first two sprays didn’t work.

Yes I Read Too

Picked up a couple of interesting looking books at Costco the other day which gets added to the pile I’m currently working through. Titles include A Year At the Races, The Wedding, Women of the Year, The Republican War on Science, The 10 Best Kentucky Derbies, The Home Run Horse, Rats, The Most Glorious Crown, From the Desert to the Derby, Funny Cide and Native Dancer. Now on the list goes Michael Crichton’s State of Fear and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister.

I hate thinking of titles

Well my doctor didn’t give me the allergy test I request and instead put me on Claritin and Flonase. Just the thought of having to spray something up my nose makes me not want to do it. Especially since it’s eight sprays per day (two on each side, twice a day). I guess I’ll get used to it. If it doesn’t work I’ll see a specialist, if it does I’ll be on this stuff for awhile. I’m just sick of the constant sneezing and not being able to breathe in the morning (I blame my cat sleeping on my head for part of this). I’ve never had problem with cat dander and I’ve had them my entire life so I don’t think it’s her fault. Before my appointment I came close to adopting another cat. She’s been at the local petstore for the past week and is adorable. She’s only 2 1/2 months old and already spayed with shots. Really low adoption fee and she’s so sweet. I don’t think my current cat would like her much though. She already gets along with my dog as I discovered last weekend. It’s probably best to clear up my allergy problems before I consider another animal.

One Week Two Days

Well it’s been one week and two days since I got my ipod video and it’s given me a good amount of time to play around with it. I grabbed the first season of Lost as I’d only seen a few episodes from last season and it’s so handy to just be able to pull out my ipod and watch a bit of an episode when I’m waiting on line somewhere. I’m sure it will come in handy tomorrow when I go wait in the doctors office for my allergy test. I’ve only had two instances of it shutting down automatically when I was pressing the forward button but other than that it’s worked well. I haven’t fully tested the battery but an upcoming trip out of town will give me the perfect chance. I already have a Belkin Battery Pack and I picked up a big pack of AA batteries to last me throughout the plane ride. I’ve got like three layovers and I’ll be doing a lot of driving as well. Only got the batteries so I can watch Lost on the plane, just for music in the car I don’t think there will be any problems. I didn’t have too many problems with my 3rd Generation 40gig. I’m going to give it to my Dad when I see him in a week. It will be the 2nd MP3 Jukebox that I’ve handed down to him. I hope this one lasts longer than the last one. I had an Archos back in 2002 and got the iPod for Christmas in 2003.

It’s been a long three weeks. I’ve been working nearly non-stop but it all calms down in just one more day and then I’ll be away in a week for ten days on a much needed vacation.

Okay you all know where I stand on politics, I’m pretty far left. I’ve been recieving a magazine call “The New American”. This is so far left it’s off the charts, I can’t tell if half of what they’re saying is true. Anyone else been getting this? Any truth behind what they’re saying?

Yay for Rat Grooming!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051021/ap_on_fe_st/rat_grooming

For rat owners like me this is good. I have three girls and clipping their nails isn’t fun. I hate letting them sit on my shoulder with sharp nails.

And for all of you going “Ewwww!”, grow up! Rats are cleaner than cats and smarter than dogs (and this is coming from someone with both a cat and a dog!)

New Fall Shows

Well we’re about a month into the new fall TV shows. Any new favorites yet? I’ve become hooked on Reunion and Supernatural. It’s been awhile since the WB has offered something that will hold my interest and Supernatural seems to do it, plus Jared Padalecki is some major eye candy. With Reunion I’m wondering how they can do a second season as 20 years already go by in the first season. I’ve been setting my DVR to grab Footballers Wives on BBC America which debuted over the summer. As they say in the previews, it’s as much about Football (soccer) as Dallas was about oil. It’s more serious than Desperate Housewives but I think that’s what I like about it, not to mention they can get away with saying a lot more. My Name Is Earl is amusing but I’m glad it’s not more than a 1/2 hour long.

Anyone else have any new favorites? I haven’t caught E-Ring yet but it’s on my list to try to see. I saw Commander in Chief the other night and I’ve been setting my DVR for The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, but I don’t think it’s worth it. It’s way too soft compared to The Donald’s version. Anything I should be trying to catch?

I leave you with a quote from Footballers Wives..

Tanya Turner: I’ve decided there is only one man for me…”Charlie”.
Hazel Bailey: Come on love, let’s be fair to dicks, they’re great bits of tackle.
Tanya Turner: It’s what’s on the end of them that’s the problem.
Hazel Bailey: I know that’s why I keep mine in my handbag.

And silence fills the room..

I’ve been quiet lately I know. I haven’t had much to say or felt the need to blog about what I did have to say. Life has been good. I gave myself a kick in the butt to move on from my current job to something that’s going to have a greater impact on my future. I hope to be able to get a new car (can be used just needs to be new to me) in the next year or so and find a more suitable place to live. I’m going back east for a week to visit family and some of my favorite creatures and a few friends too ;) It should be a really great trip if I don’t end up starting a new job then. I miss my Dad, Grandfather and a few horses I knew well back during their racing careers. Including one my family owned for two years. She was sold in January and bred to a nice stallion. I called up the farm and asked if it was possible to see her since she meant a lot to us and they said yes. But enough about the horses.

I still haven’t gotten my butt over to see The Corpse Bride. Not really lazy but just been busy.

Anyone out there have a Blackberry with T-Mobile? Are you having problems with the fact it doesn’t really “push” anymore but just delivers to either the handheld OR inbox, whichever grabs it first? Since the so called “upgrade” I don’t get most of my mail in Thunderbird which is making things difficult since the reception in my house sucks. So I have to go into the webmail box to reply to e-mails if I get them at home. I’ve tried the Blackberry Forums but I’m not getting much help there.

I PASSED BABY!

Ha! Well most of you don’t know what the hell I’m talking about and I could care less but I passed a really important exam (bar type) last week and now I can move on to bigger and better things. Found out Sunday but was too busy celebrating to post the news.

Podcast Recomendation

Anyone out there who loves Podcasts and good comedy should check out Z100 Phone Taps. It’s from my favorite station back home. Friends and family call or write the radio station and suggest jokes to play on their loved ones. I haven’t heard one a long time that didn’t make me laugh out loud. “Deer Killer” is probably one of the best.

Sorry

Sorry that I haven’t been keeping up with this blog as much as I should have. My time just freed up quite a bit so look for more from me in the future.
