Testing out Airpress.. The jury is still out.
Oh my - it’s hot. It’s the hottest day of the year and the AC decides it’s been overloaded. It’s even too hot to sleep so I’m up. When I went up to get the power cord for my laptop, I saw my roommate’s light on so I’m not the only one who can’t sleep. It’s just as hot at work with no AC there in my office. I’m so ready for fall. I don’t mind the cold mornings, it’s the perfect excuse to drink tea all morning when I work. Although I won’t get as many days to enjoy it this year as I have JURY DUTY for the entire month of September. Hopefully I won’t get called in too much.
So lately I’ve been dealing with a slight tea obsession which has resulted in many orders to Adagio. They have some amazing loose leaf teas that are just to die for. The white tropics is one of my favorites. I ordered the sample and got a full size on my last order. I just ordered a bunch more today, mainly samples and I can’t wait for them to come. I finally broke down and bought their
IngenuiTEA teapot as well. They ship super fast and have great reward programs (which is good for those frequent drinkers!)
I picked up a box of 200 notecards at Target for $9.99. Similar to these but slightly different colors. I’m constantly handwriting note cards to friends and family around the country. I rarely get any back but that’s ok. I know they appreciate it.
Look an update! And it’s not six months later! It’s almost Spring which is good. We had a big thunderstorm last week and a mini one this week which I couldn’t hear over my loud neighbors upstairs! Well, only a month and a week or so more of them and I’m out of heck hole. I’ve been playing Second Life which is fun but not good to get addicted to (I’m nowhere near that stage yet). Other than that besides work my life is just not that interesting and I can’t really talk about work…
Wow, I can’t believe it’s been that long. Everything has changed in my life. Literally. I’m in a new state, new job, new car and so unbelievably happy, you couldn’t even imagine. Only downside? My loud ass neighbors above me. I will definitely post more when I’m on a better connection.
I’m considering applying for a job on Maui. It’d definitely be something I could do but I’m trying to weigh the positives and negatives of moving 3,000 miles again and being in the middle of nowhere. I’d have to sell my car and buy one there, I’d have to spend some time without my cat for awhile. She’s 7 and if I move her there I don’t know if I’d ever be able to bring her back if my plans changed. Life is expensive there. Everything from gas to bandaids. No horse racing
I just don’t know. I’ll probably apply but if I get it I don’t think I’ll get up taking it.
Oops sorry about that. They gave me a slight promotion which meant a lot more work and since then pretty much everything I do online has slipped to unreachable levels. I was going to try to make up for lost time this weekend and then I found out I’m working because I’m going to take the 15th off (first day off in a long time) so I’ve got to be there tomorrow…. errr today.
So I bought my first Mac, a MacBook Pro. My crappy Gateway was so slow and unbearable to deal with that I sold it as soon as I could. It will be good for someone that doesn’t want to do more than surf the net and a few simple Word Docs. For me it was absolute hell. I LOVE my speedy little MacBook Pro. I’ve only had it for a few days and I’ve picked up the Windows to Mac switch pretty quickly. I’ll attempt to blog some other updates on Sunday when I get some more time. For now peace out my lovely readers.
I’m starting to make these posts just a bit more often so soon I’ll be back to blogging everyday (wait was I ever?). You’ll notice the pretty custom header. Very 2004 yes but it’s appropriate for the work I’m doing right now. Although my job is a lot of work at the end of the day I like the feeling that I’m doing my part to help for the elections in 2006 & 2008. I’m definitely not saying I want to make a career out of politics but I want to do what I can. I really want to see change in this country. We’ve gone so far down hill since 2001 and I’m afraid to see what things will look like in the future if we don’t change the majority in the congress and senate NOW. I could really go off here but I’m not going to. I deal with it enough during the week and get my fair share of debates on a daily basis.
I’m halfway through The Devil Wears Prada and I hope to finish it by next weekend so I can check out the movie. I’m planning to see POTC this week one night after work and hopefully catch Superman in the next two weeks. I’m not sure what else is coming out this summer, so for right now those are my top 3 “must see” movies.
I had to leave work early on Friday because my back was aching so bad. Even with the holiday off it felt like a long week (I worked Monday) for me. The 4th was good. It it easy, took in two parties during the afternoon and then caught some fireworks with my mom and watched Syriana while consuming the wonderful Coconut Cake from Andronicos which I picked up on the way home from the last party. My mom had just gotten back from a drive with my stepfather to Oregon and I hadn’t seen her in a few days so I figured cake and George Clooney were a good way to spend the evening (stepfather stayed in Oregon to work). I have vision issues and couldn’t see the subtitles half of the time and quickly lost interest and fell asleep and by the end my mom had enough of it. I’ll try it again when it’s on HBO. Another movies I’ve caught on DVD the past two weeks: Eight Below (I cried the entire way though) and Failure to Launch (can’t stand SJP) both were decent although Eight Below didn’t have much of a plot.
I’m hearing some coyotes outside. It doesn’t sound like they’re too far off. Time to turn in.
So in two days (err nights I guess) my night job is done and I've already fully jumped into my other job. I bought a cheaper Gateway laptop about a three weeks ago. My reasoning is I'll save now for an iMac. I'm looking for an apartment closer to my new job in Berkeley or anything near BART so I don't have to worry about leaving my car (which has already been hit parking there!) overnight at BART if I go out after work which already ends pretty late in the evening.
So now my car has a nice sized dent in the side. I'll be taking it in for an assessment this week and I'll most likely get the check from the person who hit me and use it and my car as a trade in on a new Honda Fit next month. I don't want to put the money back into my nine year old car which already has gotten over $1,000 of work in it this year alone.
I found an awesome newer makeup line that's cheap and good quality. Every product is only $1! www.eyeslipsface.com
